This New Year’s Eve brings about all kinds of new for friends & fans of 7 Million Jigawatts. Jake Tobias & Melissa Behring debut the new band line up, bring out a new set of dance party tunes and host a great way to ring in the new year with the fine folks at Rochester Mills Brewing Co. They will have a complimentary champagne toast at midnight and provide party favors to spice up the evening.

Rochester Mills Brewing Co is located at 400 Water Street in Downtown Rochester. The band performs from 10pm – 2am and there is no cover charge for this event. Happy Holidays!

Motor City Blog Covers 7MJ’s CD Release Party

November 19 – 7 Million Jigawatts CD Release – Here’s a first, take a small art gallery, fill it with people, serve drinks and sushi, and toss in a rock band for good measure. Excellently presented in Kaiser Suidan’s Next Step Studios Gallery in Ferndale, the intimate space worked well for 7 Million Jigawatts’ Taking Flight CD Release. 7MJ gave us a boisterous combo of rock and soul including tunes from the new CD. Check them out if you haven’t already.

Studio rock: Bringing music and art together is the focus at “Fine Art Meets Rock ‘n’ Soul,” set for tonight at Next Step Studios in Ferndale.

The event features a performance from femme-fronted rockers 7 Million Jigawatts, who are celebrating the release of “Taking Flight,” plus a performance and live painting by artist-musician Marcus Worx and art on display by Graceann Warn and Kaiser Suidan.

Detroit MI – Dream Town Media presents a evening filled with music for a great cause. Come out and help bring a smile to a child this holiday season at the Toys for Tots fundraiser at the Hard Rock Café on Thursday December 10th.

Toys for Tots is a great and simple way to spread some holiday cheer this year to those who are less fortunate. This program which was founded in 1947 by the United States Marine Corp. is truly a blessing to those in need that may not be able to provide their children with a gift for the holidays. The mission is to collect new, unwrapped toys and to distribute them as gifts to needy children.

7 Million Jigawatts will be in the holiday spirit and rocking the stage. Coming off their recently successful CD release party at Next Step Studio art gallery for their new EP called ‘Taking Flight.’ Their song from the album, “I’ve Got You Covered,” is featured on the interior 360 view of the 2010 Mustang on www.the2010mustang.com.They will be playing a mix of covers as well as originals from their new release. This group has been playing together since 2003 and has an impressive collective onstage presence.

Kevin Roney has been playing professionally around metro Detroit for 5+ years. He is a singer/songwriter creative who merges folk, funk, and hip hop. He plays his acoustic guitar like a bass, beatboxes, and sings soulfully. If you’ve never had the pleasure of hearing Kevin, come out and see him!

Much love to the Armstrong’s who hosted an amazing Dream Cruise party. The crowd cruised in their classic 1975 Corvettte’s, old Model A Ford’s and classic Dodge R/T’s. They stuffed themselves with Chicken Shack and drained the keg before the sun went down. 7MJ performed an evening infused with rock n soul music. The Motor City Rah Rah’s stopped by to get the party rolling. Vivian George, local singer songwriter and Julie Hecker from Punk Fitness Detroit, danced with the band and had the hosts on their toes.

Jake & Melissa met Jack Tempchin (All Ready Gone, Peaceful Easy Feeling), heard Jeff Lynne play on one guitar string and met all kinds of amazing people.
Now home in Detroit, they’re back to work. Rockin’ out all weekend at the White Lake Inn, we finished up the vocal tracks on The Way Down. Now off to Big Sky tomorrow to do final the mixes. We can’t wait for you to hear them.
