Dog Fight Against Cancer

Wednesday, August 26th, 2009

7 Million Jigawatts to perform their unique blend of rock and soul music this Saturday at an all ages fundraiser at The Red Dog Saloon to benefit a local Commerce Twp Family.

The Red Dog is a close knit family that 7MJ is proud to be a part of. One of the owners has recently been diagnosed with Lung Cancer. Instead of focusing on her own battle, the Red Dog family is extending a helping hand to a family in the community who is also going through a tough battle with the disease and has had a very unfortunate past year.

A 38 year old mother of two from Commerce has recently been diagnosed with Breast Cancer. She had it in the past, but it has returned premature of the seven year remission mark. She can no longer work due to her disease. To add to their troubles, the father was recently laid off of work, leaving them without medical insurance.

Breast Cancer Benefit at the Red Dog Saloon

The Red Dog Saloon is pulling the community together to make a difference. In this day and age, it seems everyone knows someone who is suffering from this incurable disease. We would like to see our kindness in action by helping a local family make it through this horrible battle and not have to do it alone.

The event will go from 12noon until 9pm outside, and continue on until 2am inside. To kick-off the festivities, we will be hosting bands in the Red Dog Saloon parking lot all day.

Performers include:

  • 12-1:30 – Damage Control
  • 1:45-3:15 – Legacy
  • 3:45-5:15 – Calling Marvin
  • 5:45 – 7:10 – 7 Million Jigawatts
  • 7:20 – 8:45 – Cruizin Jupiter
  • 9:30 – 2 – No One Else
  • Along with live music, the Red Dog is hosting other activities to help generate money for the family. There will be a Dunk Tank in the lot, and for $2/ball, attendees can take their chances at dunking some of the Red Dog staff, our owner, as well as other prominent individuals from the community. Along with the Dunk Tank, we will also have a Casino Tent, featuring a Poker Tournament, cash games, and Black Jack. There will be FREE ASTROLOGY READINGS. CJ Roberts Salon and Day Spa from Hartland will be on hand offering Henna Tattoos as well as doing free fitings for wigs for Chemo-patients.

All proceeds will be going directly to the family in need.

    Childhelp.org Fundraiser

    Sunday, July 19th, 2009

Yesterday 7MJ performed outside of Joe’s Headquarters in Farmington. Set up ‘Grand Ole Opry’ style, the group crowded around an old mic and played for a few hours.  The band helped Jackie P raise money for her preferred charity at the Founder’s Day Festival.  Jackie P set up under a tent and hair for a minimum $10 donation to Childhelp.org. So far this weekend, she’s raised around $1500 and there’s still one more day to go!

There was a brief moment of breakdancing mania just before the 7MJ boys got their stylish new hair cuts. Jon Vidal lost his lovely locks for a more stylish shorter trim. There will be pictures of it on the 7 Million Jigawatts Facebook Fan Page.

Please help 7MJ find this kid.
