Helping Guys & Gals Get Engaged One Love Song at a Time
Wednesday, July 27th, 2011The Rock Star Treatment
Sunday, January 30th, 2011On a recent road trip through the roots of music capitals across the Midwest, Jake Tobias & Melissa Behring spent some time in Nashville, New Orleans, Austin and Memphis. On their adventure, they promoted 7 Million Jigawatts in some new cities, crossed the paths of some great musicians and spent alot of time listening to new music. They also spent quite a bit of time tasting a variety of great food and bbq across the Southern United States. The last city on the trip, Memphis, home to Elvis Presley’s Graceland also Tom’s BBQ. When they walked in to Tom’s for a late lunch on their way out of Memphis they had no idea what they were in for. The manager, Adam greeted them at the counter and quizzed the two as to where they were from. Guess they stuck out like a sore thumb in Memphis and Adam challenged Melissa to a little music duo. He sang a little ACDC and she sang a little Janis Joplin. Before they knew it, they had three plates of the best bbq in the country and another bag of carry out to take home.
Thanks to Adam for the swag, the songs and supporting 7 Million Jigawatts. We certainly know why they was featured on Food Network’s show Diners, Drive-in’s and Dives. If you’re ever in Memphis, stop by and say HI. Tom’s BBQ is located at 4087 New Getwell Road Memphis, TN 38118-6016 (901) 365-6690
Never know who will show up at a 7MJ show
Monday, February 8th, 2010Saturday night at the White Lake Inn was a rip roaring blast with four or five birthday parties. You never know who is friends with whom. This weekend proved that no matter how much urban sprawl has impacted our fair city of Detroit, people will still travel. Especially for good rock n soul.
7 Million Jigawatts had the fortune of welcoming Atlantic Recording Artist Ty Stone to the stage to do rousing renditions of Honky Tonk Woman and Suspicious Minds. You may recall last fall, Ty graced the cover of Real Detroit Weekly with his search for “The Truth” – his band. You can take a listen to Ty on his official myspace page and see where he’s playing next. Never know, maybe 7MJ & Ty will grace a bill together somewhere in the future.
Thanks to Ty for being such a good sport!

Childhelp.org Fundraiser
Sunday, July 19th, 2009Yesterday 7MJ performed outside of Joe’s Headquarters in Farmington. Set up ‘Grand Ole Opry’ style, the group crowded around an old mic and played for a few hours. The band helped Jackie P raise money for her preferred charity at the Founder’s Day Festival. Jackie P set up under a tent and hair for a minimum $10 donation to Childhelp.org. So far this weekend, she’s raised around $1500 and there’s still one more day to go!
There was a brief moment of breakdancing mania just before the 7MJ boys got their stylish new hair cuts. Jon Vidal lost his lovely locks for a more stylish shorter trim. There will be pictures of it on the 7 Million Jigawatts Facebook Fan Page.
