August 21st, 2012Lapeer MI – 7 Million Jigawatts announces their only 2012 performance in Michigan on Saturday, September 15 at Side Tracks Bar & Grill 266 Lake Nepessing Road Lapeer, MI 48446. Don’t miss the chance to hear Melissa Behring and Jake Tobias bring their special brand of Rock & Soul Music to Michigan as they return home after spending the past 9 months on tour performing for Princess Cruises.
Celebrate the beginning of fall in beautiful Michigan with an evening of dance and party music as performed by 7 Million Jigawatts (7MJ). 7MJ have been making quite a name for themselves. In September, the members of 7MJ will have returned home for a 3 week break from performing on board the Dawn and Diamond Princess touring the Alaska, Australia & the South Pacific for Princess Cruises. Their uniquely original sound caught the eye of Ford Motor Company back in 2010 when they featured the 7MJ song, “I’ve Got You Covered” in their 2010 Mustang online advertising campaign. In 2009, they had a very successful release of their first original CD “Taking Flight”, which is available online at ITunes, Last FM, Digstation, and CD Baby.
Featured vocalist in the 7MJ line up is Melissa Behring. Upon graduation from Alpena High School she studied voice performance at Central Michigan University and relocated to Metro-Detroit. Behring is now enjoying an exciting career performing for Princess Cruises and working on the next 7MJ original album.
Jake Tobias began playing guitar at age 9, and was teaching in the local music store by the time he was 14. As a 17 year-old high school student, local bands were sneaking this minor into Detroit clubs to perform with the local bands. In addition to degrees in Music and Engineering from University of Michigan, Jake’s eclectic career has seen him on stage with many Detroit and national acts, including The Contours, Martha Reeves and Lesli Gore.
Supporting Melissa and Jake in 7 Million Jigawatts will be their good friends and 7MJ Alumni, Clint Sabon on Drums and Jeff Nolan on Guitar/Bass.
Clint Sabon, the band leader for Nine, the popular Chicago Tribute band and teaches drums at A&R Music in Southgate. Best known in 7MJ as the rapping drummer for performing hits by Vanilla Ice and Busta Move. He played drums on the Sinister Santa Sampler released in 2005. Clint played drums for 7 Million Jigawatts from 2003-2007.
Jeff Nolan performed guitar and bass with 7MJ back in the early days of the band (2001-2003). He is best known as the bass player in the ACDC tribute band, Dirty Deeds. He’s also a familiar solo and duo acoustic guitar performer around Metro-Detroit.

After spending most of our year performing at sea, we are excited to be back home for the holidays and look forward to sharing our music with you. The evening’s performance features Melissa Behring (vocals), Jake Tobias (guitar and vocals), Neil Donato (keyboards), Jason Q (bass and vocals) and Clint Sabon (drums and vocals) playing your favorite rock, pop and r&b dance songs. Jake Tobias holds the band together on bass, guitar and vocals, and has been heard performing with Motown acts like The Contours, The Shades of Blue and Leslie Gore. On guitar and vocals, Chris Brantley has performs with the likes of Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels, Barbara Payton and the Killer Flamingos. The funky man on the keys, Scott Vernier has been seen on stage opening for Gretchen Wilson, Tower of Power and played keys with Dal Bouey and The Dream. Rounding out this great line up is the powerhouse drummer, Matt Stahl. Stahl has been seen performing around Detroit with Thornetta Davis, Motor City Josh and the Blue Collar Boys.
